Junior College
Anglo-Chinese Junior College (ACJC) was established in 1977 and is a Methodist institution committed to an all-round education of the highest standards based on Christian principles. The college motto is “The best is yet to be” which is a reminder for all ACSians to always strive for better performance even after achieving success, encouraging a humble posture among students. The college also aims to inculcate values such as integrity, tenacity and passion among students in order for them to make a difference. Students in ACJC come from a variety of secondary schools and it is not part of an integrated programme.
ACS(I) is part of the ACS family, running an IB programme. Its cohort comprises of ACS(I) IP boys, MGS IP girls and O level students from various secondary schools. It is known for having a strong school spirit and nurturing all-rounded students with its various special programmes. These include Advanced Science Programmes(to develop Years 5 – 6 students with special science talents and potential for the international science arena), ACSians-in-action(to develop student’s entrepreneur dare by allowing them to take ownership in an overseas service-based project) among many others. ACS(I) also has a few awards to encourage students to speak eloquently in both English and Chinese. One of them is the Dr Lee Suan Yew Speaker of the Year Award that showcases a dazzling display of ACSian eloquence, wit and stage charisma.
ASRJC is a merger of Anderson Junior College and Serangoon Junior College, aiming to nurture leaders who will develop a keen interest in serving in a range of capacities in Singapore and overseas. Focused on cultivating adventurousness, imagination, empathy, groundedness and reliability among its students, it has various programmes and facilities.One such programme is the ASR Industry Experience (work attachments) and the Industry Exposure (learning journeys) Programmes, another is the internationalisation program.Facilities include specialized PlayP∑n Makerspace Lab, Elementz Lab, and Nanoscience Lab that promotes the interdisciplinary development of STEAM education.
CJC is the third-oldest junior college in Singapore with 15 affiliated Catholic secondary schools. With a English Studies Centre, CJC is 1 of the 3 schools that has the English Language Elective Programme which offers the English Language Elective Scholarship. Motivated by the broad Catholic principles of Truth and Love, they aim to create a values-centred environment that balances academic, character and spiritual development. CJC’s promise is that every CJC student will become a thinker with a mission, leader with a heart - a key to success in a globalised, fast-changing world.
Dunman High School also known as 德明政府中学 prides itself as “The premier school of Leaders of Honour.” where our school motto emphasises the importance of honesty, trustworthiness, moral courage and loyalty. Formalities aside, one of the interesting things about DHS is the general light-heartedness of studying here. Students find the pace of life In Dunman different (admittedly slower) from other “more competitive” schools, giving one more time and space to explore other aspects of life.
A new addition to the post-secondary educational institutions, Eunoia Junior College has a cohort size of about 600 students. At least half the cohort is made up of students from the Integrated Programme in CHIJ St Nicholas Girls School, Singapore Chinese Girls School and Catholic High School, while the rest are admitted via JAE or DSA-JC. Referred to by Aristotle as the pursuit of the good of all, and the desire for the good of the other person in friendships, EJC strives to cultivate critical and inventive thinkers with strong morals and intellectual integrity. It has its own special programmes namely a STEM Research Programme and LATITUDE, ALTITUDE and MAGNITUDE programme that shapes future leaders in public service. Furthermore, other than the regular CCAs, the school encourages students to create interest groups, such as a rock band.
Hwa Chong Institution(Junior College) is an independent institution, founded in 1974. Each cohort has roughly 1000 students, comprising of Hwa Chong Institution(High School) IP boys, Nanyang Girls High School IP girls and O-level students from various Secondary Schools. Hwa Chong prides itself in having nurtured various leaders and numerous passionate, innovative learners over the years. In addition, Hwa Chong aims to engender compassion and commitment to excellence in its students. It hopes for students to continue to serve the community and reach their fullest potential even after graduation.
Jurong Pioneer Junior College was merged on January 2019, focusing on the courage to venture and aiming to nurture a community of active learners, innovative thinkers and respectful and compassionate leaders with confidence for the future. With it’s language elective programmes like Chinese Language Elective Programme and Malay Language Elective Programme, many opportunities such as internships, MP attachments, talks, competitions and performances are given. In addition, they have many activities for students such as a Math and Science Challenge, a Leadership Training Camp, a Service Learning Festival, and Road Runs.
Millennia Institute is an institute of excellence with a unique business focus. Their future-oriented curriculum and learning framework aims to develop a spirit of innovation and enterprise in students. MI’s curriculum allows students to take their H1 subjects in Year 2 and H2 and H3 subjects in Year 3. With core values of Integrity, Responsibility, Respect and Resilience, MI boasts a wide range of activities which includes the MI Internationalisation Programme. This programme exposes students to community work and service learning overseas, providing them a fulfilling and unforgettable experience.
National Junior College was founded in 1969. It aims to nurture students who demonstrate loyalty with integrity, scholarship with creativity, leadership with sensitivity and service with honour. It has a cohort size of roughly 500 students, comprising of both IP and JAE students. Some key programmes they have include the Enhanced Boarding Programme and Research Programme. The former aims to instill a deep sense of responsibility to the community and nation, excellent character, sound leadership and a passion for the pursuit of knowledge and interest in students. The latter provides students research opportunities in Science, Mathematics, Computing, Sports Sciences, Humanities and Social Sciences. Students will get the opportunity to work with international scientists at local research and academic institutes, and collaborate with peers from high schools from around the world.
Nanyang Junior College was founded in 1977, with an approximate of 700 students per cohort. Each cohort comprises Chung Cheng High School Main and Yishun students, as well as students from various Secondary Schools. NYJC commits to being a passionate, curious learning community and strongly believes in the importance of happiness. They offer more than 150 subject combinations and various co-curricular activities, even designing a unique framework and programmes to enhance capabilities and capacities of students’ leadership and character. One main perk about NYJC would certainly be the daily 8.30 reporting time.
Founded in 1823, Raffles Institution is the oldest school in Singapore. With students from RI, RGS and various secondary schools, it aims to provide all her students with an education that enables them to excel in their various passions and pursuits. Deeply committed in ensuring that RI is community-anchored and inclusive, they consistently exhort their students to pay it forward for the betterment of the community.
Founded in 1956, River Valley High School is a forward-looking educational institution steeped in history and eastern culture. One cohort comprises River Valley’s IP students as well as O-Level students from various secondary schools. To nurture in students a way of thinking and doing through designing and making, all students are given the opportunity to go through the Innovation Programme to be equipped with necessary skills and knowledge to view situations with empathy and in multiple perspectives so as to seek out and design innovating improvements to these situations. RV also aims to nurture in students bicultural acumen, moral integrity and people-centricity.
St Andrew’s Junior College is an aided mission school that strongly encourages students to contribute to their families, societies and eternity. With a few mission schools affiliated to it, it has roughly 800 students. SAJC aims to cultivate wonder, integrity, self-discipline, excellence, thanksgiving, resilience, unity and empathy amongst its students. It also has many overseas immersion trips for students to choose from, ranging from subject-based, to leadership-based, to CCA-based. For experiential learning of students, SAJC has a work shadowing programme as well, providing students the opportunity to understand a particular job better.
SJI is a Catholic school who places strong emphasis on internationalism, intercultural understanding and making a positive difference to the world. The education system and school experience is based on 3 main values- Faith, Service and Community. As a school with the IB programme, SJI’s learning is typically conducted in tutorial groups of about 20 students, which will facilitate a more engaging and intellectually-active experience, and offer strong personal attention for each student. Ultimately, SJI aims to empower their students to become men and women of integrity and men and women for others.

Tampines Meridian Junior College is a merged JC that started operations in January 2019. With a strong heritage and culture of both Tampines Junior College and Meridian Junior College, TMJC offers a wide range of educational experiences and enrichment programmes. Perspective-taking discussions, learning journeys, as well as dialogues with office holders have been adopted to help students think critically and embark on an authentic and personally meaningful Character and Citizenry growth journey. The Global Education programme also offers rich opportunities for students to immerse in foreign cultures, learn about emerging economies in the region and gain insights into unique societal issues. Through these overseas experiences, TMJC aims to grow their students as individuals and citizens who are equipped to be active global citizens.
Victoria Junior College is a highly selective, coeducational junior college in Singapore offering pre-university education to boarding and day-students. Founded in 1984 , VJC is famous for their strong school spirit. VJC offers a two-year programme leading to the GCE A-Level examinations. Her students come from more than 50 secondary schools all over the island. In fact, more than 60% of our intake comes from the Joint Admissions Exercise (JAE), ensuring a rich cultural and social diversity. Our students consist of Victoria School IP boys, Cedar Girls’ Secondary School IP girls by the Victoria-Cedar Alliance Integrated Programme (VCA IP) and O-level students too.
YIJC prides itself as a ONE college, aiming to nurture leaders and learners who are critical thinkers, effective collaborators and driven by purpose. It has various signature programmes such as Internationalisation Programme, Work Attachment Programme and Digital Literacies Programme, equipping students with life skills.
