" MI students generally have a sense of feeling inferior to other JCs due to possibly how other school see us & due to the fact that we dont necessarily have high flyers for academics every year & niche CCAS. Otherwise, it’s more or less normal JC culture." ---Senior B

" Academically, it is as rigorous as other JCs. Just that usually the first year is mainly focusing on building strong foundation, so it’ll be less stressful in some sense. However, on the flip side, since we take H1s ( excluding gp ) in year 2, most of the time Y2 is a hectic year considering that you have to juggle between academics, H1 MT, Content & PW, together with CCA. Lastly in year 3 it isn’t as straining compared to other JCs since we only take 4 subjects, 5 if you fail CLB in Year 2 As. Everyone is not as focused on results since MI has a variety of enrichment programs, such as GAP week, Job Attachment, design thinking etc. but there still is considerable importance placed on academics eventually we are all aiming for university. It would be less competitive, and the people in MI are rather willing to share notes, study together to encourage each other etc." ---Senior B

" Academics, people may not be as academically inclined as other students from JCs hence you’ll see people struggling. CCAS, we dont exactly excel in CCA as many start from scratch and pick up the sport when they come to MI but the school still makes an emphasis that as much as cca is important, it shouldn’t overtake the importance of your studies." ---Senior B

" Honestly it is not, as long as you have the heart to learn and follow up, most CCAS would be more than willing to take you in." ---Senior B

" Every year, there is sports day, social bazaar, GAP week ( for y1/y2), Job Attachment (for y1) etc. My favorite would be gap week because, we get to pick up new sports / try out programs provided such as kickboxing, dance, trampoline, skating." ---Senior B

" Class ratio is usually 30 people max. Sometimes stretches to 32 but really rarely. Gender ratio seems like a question that is hard to answer since every year it’ll be different." ---Senior B

" Tutors are easy to approach in my personal opinion. They are very much available for consult as long as you’re willing to put in the effort to listen in class, do your work. When they see that you have placed in the work to do what needs to be done, they would also place in the effort to meet you. ( I’ve meet my teachers twice a week, 2hrs each just to buck up on my studies, it is possible as long as you’re putting in the effort )" ---Senior B

" Stereotypes... MI students are stupid (lols) but nah, not necessarily, people learn differently & sometimes it takes time for people to pick up skills =/= stupidity. MI is where people go when they have nowhere else to go. True, but still. Come to MI with no goal, you are just wasting your time." ---Senior B
