Describe Your School Culture/Spirit:
" My school is mostly made up of IP students and they are all very smart but also the school has a lot of CCAs to choose from " --- Senior TM
How is the academic rigour? Is it competitive? Is everyone fixated on results?
" YES very stressful as a jc but its even more stressful when the people there are all so hard working and smart, its quite intense" ---Senior TM
Was the competition to get into a CCA tough?
" Cca is not that competitive. But for sports cca you will need to go for trial and for some cca that were mainly brought in by the school, those ccas will have quite a bit of experienced players" ---Senior TM
What is the biggest difference between secondary school and JC/poly?
" Sec sch is way more relaxed and the content was easy to grasp. Even the timetable is less vigorous with consistent ending time of at most 2pm and 5pm more remedial.
Now in jc, it is very stressful because of how hard the content is and additional subject of project work which takes up a good chunk of our time. The timetable is also very packed with latest ending time of 6.30pm and with cca 8.30/9pm. The earliest release time is 3pm for me." ---Senior TM
Why did you choose jc/poly?
" Because I didn't know what i wanted at that point so i just decided to continue studying in jc with the subject combi that will open up more paths for me." ---Senior TM
What are some special traditions/activities your school has? Which is your favourite?
" Deep dive day which is one whole day of CCE but the school will invite “change makers” to talk to us" ---Senior TM
How flexible is subject combi? Do you know of anyone who was denied his/her subject combi due to scheduling/manpower issues?
" Subject combi is quite wide spread and we have the power to propose a new subject combi but it must be approved by the school admin and hv sufficient number of people. And yes i know of someone who got their subject combi rejected because the class was full " ---Senior TM
